“Today (16), I had the privilege of participating in the “Investment Forum” organized by both state and private companies from China.
During this event, I invited Chinese investors to consider investing in Sri Lanka, a country with a stable, well-managed economy and a transparent business environment.
This forum was held on the third day of my four-day official visit to China.
Several prominent Chinese companies participated in the forum, including China Tianying Inc. (CNTY), China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd, China Communications Construction Company Ltd, China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group), Metallurgical Corporation of China Ltd, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), China Energy International Group Company Ltd, The Guangzhou Public Transport Group, Huawei, and BYD Auto, among others.
I also had the opportunity to engage in friendly discussions with the heads of these companies.”
The event was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, Vijitha Herath, Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation, Bimal Rathnayake, Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Qi Zhenhong, and Sri Lankan Ambassador to China, Majintha Jayasinghe.
