Ministry of Energy, Sri Lanka met donor agency representatives yesterday (15, Jan) at the Power Sector Reforms Secretariat to brief them the upcoming amendments to the Electricity Act.
Minister of Energy, Eng. Kumara Jayakody, Secretary to the ministry, Prof. Udayanga Hemapala and Director General of PSRS, Eng. Pubudu Niroshan Hedigallage together with other PSRS members Dr. Indra Mahakalanda, Eng. Kosala Kamburadeniya and additional secretary to the ministry, Mr. Chandana Wijayasinghe attended the meeting.
ADB, JICA, World Bank and USAID senior representatives have expressed their opinion with the confirmation of their fullest support in sector reforms.
Sources say committee appointed by the Ministry of Energy with the cabinet approval will submit their recommendation in amendments to the act to the Minister on coming Monday, 20th January.
